Job Description
As the Senior Global Indirect Sourcing Category Manager you will guide strategic sourcing activities for a complex portfolio of services including consulting, benefits, recruiting, temporary labor, travel, and financial services by providing strategic thought leadership, managing internal relationships, and supporting supplier relationship management activities within those categories. The Category Manager will be responsible for managing $50-60M spend.
You will work closely with business stakeholders across all of Fortune Brands to understand business needs and develop/execute sourcing strategies to reduce the total cost of ownership by leveraging world-class negotiation skills, tools, and processes. You will develop strong cross-functional working relationships while managing value-driven projects and implementing best practices working closely with the organization’s Finance, Procurement, and Operation leadership.
This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule. You can expect to work Tuesday – Thursday onsite at one of our offices located in Deerfield (IL), North Olmsted (OH), Maumee (OH) or Oak Creek (WI) while Monday and Friday are remote.
RESPONSIBLIITIES:
- Partner with key stakeholders and senior leadership to understand strategic direction, business objective, supply requirements, and priorities in order to develop and execute effective sourcing and demand management strategies
- Build and manage overall category projects pipeline through category expertise and stakeholder collaboration and buy-in
- Overall responsibility for developing, communicating, and implementing procurement strategies for spend categories
- Achieve stakeholders business requirements using best practice to effectively capture value (i.e. cost improvements, risk mitigation, cost avoidance, process improvements, supplier consolidation)
- Develop and maintain deep subject matter expertise and industry knowledge within the established portfolio set to provide insights that influence actionable outcomes, driving Drive sourcing best practices through cross-functional engagement
- Negotiate supplier agreements with the appropriate commercial, legal, and risk considerations
- Drive the use of new and existing supply market data sources in conjunction with best practices to improve current and long-term performance
- Ensure stakeholders, team members, and suppliers are in compliance with all FBHS policies and procedures
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in Indirect Procurement with a minimum of 5 years experience in sourcing professional services - consulting, recruiting, temporary labor, travel, benefits and financial services
- Bachelor’s degree
- Deep understanding of best-in-class procurement practices including extensive end-to-end experience in Sourcing process, Negotiations, Supplier Analysis, Industry Analysis, and RFx expertise
- Experience with Agile business methodology a plus
- Able to travel as required
