Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in education, sociology, human services, business, or a related field.
  • Three years of related occupational experience in a post-secondary educational setting.
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain Global Career Development Facilitator training.
  • Familiarity with the needs of two-year college students.
  • Knowledge of enterprise resource planning systems and software applications, including Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with end users, colleagues, and management and provide complete and timely explanations of issues and decisions.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, including the ability to plan, organize, prioritize work, analyze information, resolve problems, and make recommendations.
  • A high degree of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to respect confidential information and demonstrate critical and systems thinking.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize special projects alongside routine assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive, respectful, and accepting work environment and culture.
Responsibilities
  • Provide advising and coaching to admitted students in assigned programs, explaining academic procedures, course options, college policies, and available support resources.
  • Create degree plans outlining requirements for achieving graduation and assist current students with career coaching.
  • Address complex student issues through collaboration and problem-solving to find effective, student-focused solutions.
  • Collaborate with faculty and associate deans to develop student interventions that promote retention, persistence, and on-time graduation using customer relationship management and enterprise resource planning data.
  • Maintain student records, grant reporting, and communications within customer relationship management and Banner data systems.
  • Proactively engage and recruit stopped-out students to facilitate college re-enrollment and ensure re-enrollment of existing students through multiple communication methods.
  • Participate in recruitment and college events to attract prospective students.
  • Recognize signs of student stress and burnout and coordinate connections to appropriate resources.
  • Collaborate with deans, faculty, and employees regarding significant programmatic and curricular changes.
  • Participate in program and faculty meetings for designated academic programs.
  • Manage sensitive and confidential information in compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Recognize, recommend, and implement process improvements based on data, best practices, customer satisfaction studies, and related feedback.
  • Coordinate onboarding and group orientation sessions.
  • Actively participate in program field events and additional program involvement based on needs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a technical college setting.
  • Experience with the Banner student information system.
  • Experience with Zoom.
  • Knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
