Requirements
  • A doctorate degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
  • Proficiency using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Take initiative and work independently to develop new research ideas and troubleshoot new assays.
  • Facilitate training for students, residents, fellows, and other trainees.
  • Assist in planning and designing research experiments, establish priorities, and recommend schedules.
  • Present research findings at local and national scientific conferences.
  • Write technical publications and reports.
  • Design and write programs to perform analysis and produce written reports on results.
  • Collect pilot data to support new and competing renewal applications.
  • Supervise undergraduate and graduate research students and perform literature reviews.
  • Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary training in behavioral and cardiovascular health research using translational, population health, and health equity methods and practices.
  • Establish partnerships with primary and peer mentors based on mutual research interests and background.
  • Develop skills needed for an independent research career through individualized academic coaching.
  • Develop and present poster and oral presentations.
  • Develop ideas for innovative research and peer-reviewed publications.
  • Develop grant proposals, including F, K, or R mechanisms, with mentor guidance.
