Requirements
  • An earned master's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in information technology or a related field, or an earned related or out-of-field master's degree with documented information technology coursework or other qualifying documentation.
  • An earned bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology or a related field, with documentation of at least two qualifying items, such as professional certification, two years of in-field professional employment, teaching excellence, research and publication, or relevant additional coursework.
  • Faculty teaching ITSP 135 must hold a valid, non-expired CompTIA A+ certification or CompTIA Network+ certification.
  • Faculty teaching ITSP 215 must hold a valid, non-expired CompTIA Mobility+ certification, CWNP Certified Wireless Network Administration certification, CWNP Certified Wireless Network Professional certification, or current Cisco Academy Instructor status with wireless course qualifications.
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of College students and employees.
  • Selected candidates must undergo pre-employment background checks, including a criminal history check.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
  • Create a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals.
  • Provide effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi.
  • Use available technology to enhance instructional methods.
  • Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and instructional materials.
  • Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other required documentation.
  • Engage with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and contribute to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
  • Develop and implement active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning.
  • Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner while complying with College policies, campus guidelines, and expectations.
  • Implement emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs, and all learning environments.
  • Conduct responsibilities within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
  • Perform other duties logically associated with the position as assigned.
