Fairfax County launches "Ask Fairfax" AI assistant, answering 40,000 resident questions since August

Fairfax County, Virginia, has launched "Ask Fairfax," a generative AI assistant built on Tyler Technologies' Resident AI Assistant. Tyler announced the launch on October 20, 2026. The tool replaces a legacy chatbot and draws answers only from the county's official website. It collects anonymised metrics, not resident conversations. Since launching in early August, it has answered more than 40,000 questions. Residents most often ask about real estate, personal property taxes, vehicle registration, and circuit court information. Tyler has worked with the county since 2016, providing website hosting and online payment services. "Our longstanding partnership with Tyler gave us confidence that we could deploy AI responsibly," said Anita Rao, the county's chief applications officer.

Tyler Technologies earns Platinum Partner with The Monitoring Association.

Tyler Technologies earns Platinum Partner with The Monitoring Association. The ASAP Service Oct 15, 2026, 10:15 ET The Monitoring Association (TMA) recognized Tyler Technologies as a Platinum Partner of its Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP) Service, highlighting the company's collaboration and leadership in advancing technology and public safety. MCLEAN, Va., Oct. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ - The Monitoring Association (TMA) announced that Tyler Technologies has earned Platinum Partner status with its Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP) Service. The designation recognizes Tyler's contributions to ASAP development, collaboration on sales and growth initiatives, and thought leadership supporting adoption of automated alarm delivery in emergency communications centers (ECCs). Tyler's partnership with TMA advances ASAP integration with computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems, expands awareness of the service, and educates public safety leaders on the benefits of automated alarm processing. These efforts support TMA's goal of making ASAP a standard component of ECC operations, reducing manual alarm entry and freeing telecommunicators to focus on other critical responsibilities. "Helping emergency communications teams make the most of their technology and staff is central to our work," said Jessica Long, Head of Public Safety Partnerships at Tyler Technologies. "Our partnership with TMA brings together technology development, customer engagement and industry education to make automated alarm delivery more accessible. We're proud to earn Platinum Partner status and to support ASAP's continued growth across the public safety community." "Tyler Technologies has demonstrated a strong commitment to improving public safety technology," said Whitney Doll, TMA chief executive officer. "Their Platinum Partner status recognizes the value of those contributions and our shared commitment to expanding access to automated alarm delivery for emergency communications centers nationwide." Tyler Technologies now offers an application programming interface (API) that enables a direct connection between the vendor's CAD systems and ASAP Service. This approach reduces implementation time by at least 50 percent. ASAP Service has proven to be a highly valuable addition to any ECC's technology ecosystem because it digitally delivers notifications generated by alarm-monitoring companies directly into an ECC's CAD system without involving 911 telecommunicators, saving considerable time and significantly reducing errors. The result is faster and better emergency response. This lets the time saved go to higher-priority incidents that require telecommunicators' unique expertise and experience, or to helping them decompress, which is critical given the high-stress environments in which they work. About The Monitoring Association The Monitoring Association (TMA), formerly the Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA), is an internationally recognized non-profit trade association that represents professional monitoring companies, security systems integrators, and providers of products and services to the industry. Incorporated in 1950, TMA represents its members before Congress and regulatory agencies on the local, state and federal levels, and other authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) over the industry. Learn more online at https://tma.Cognition Corporation/about-tma/. About TMA's ASAP Service Launched in 2011 as a public-private partnership, TMA's Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP) service allows for the direct electronic dispatch of first responder calls for service from alarm companies to PSAPs and ECCs. Increasing the accuracy and efficiency of dispatches, the ASAP service utilizes ANSI standard protocols developed cooperatively by the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) and The Monitoring Association (TMA).
