Requirements
- Basic knowledge of pathophysiology, the nursing process, nursing interventions, pharmacology, methods for delivering nursing care, and management of patients and personnel.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current Indiana Registered Nurse licensure.
- Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms.
- Basic Life Support certification.
Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing personnel activities daily and participate in the delivery of general nursing duties.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing procedures and physician orders.
- Observe patients, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify the supervisor or physician of conditions and significant incidents.
- Prepare equipment and assist the physician during patient treatments and examinations.
- Assess patient vital signs to detect deviations from normal and determine patient progress.
- Manage daily personnel assignments, supervise licensed and non-licensed personnel, place patients, support cost containment, provide patient and family education, and promote customer satisfaction.
