Requirements
  • Working knowledge of perioperative workflows.
  • Understanding of Workflow Engine Rule and Order Transmittal.
  • Understanding of Epic User Security.
  • Possess the skills, knowledge, and ability essential to performing assigned duties successfully.
  • Working knowledge of client/server systems, relational database structures, and reporting tools.
  • Demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
  • Willingness to participate in 24-hour on-call rotations as a system duty officer.
  • At least three years of Epic OpTime / Anesthesia build experience.
  • Experience working with Epic EMR and its various modules.
  • Experience using, implementing, or supporting an EMR in a hospital or ambulatory setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to self-initiate and effectively solve problems.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
  • Ability to function as a project leader and project member.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
  • Ability to apply logical troubleshooting and analysis techniques to resolve problems.
  • Exercise discretion in managing sensitive information and safeguard it in accordance with organizational policies and laws on data protection and privacy.
  • Must provide proof of work authorization.
  • Comply with applicable conditions of employment, including background check and Live Scan, employment misconduct disclosure, legal right to work in the United States, vaccination policies, smoking and tobacco policy, and drug-free environment.
Responsibilities
  • Independently maintain and manage large modules of an enterprise clinical information system or department specialty system.
  • Facilitate decisions and work efforts that affect applications and patient care practices.
  • Participate in the analysis and design of data communication links between systems.
  • Act as a functional and technical leader in the development, upgrade, enhancement, and support of clinical information systems.
  • Safeguard sensitive information, limit access to individuals with a legitimate business need, and follow organizational policies and laws concerning data protection and privacy.
Desired Qualifications
  • Project coordination or management experience.
  • Working knowledge of HL7 and other interface/integration strategies.
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
