  • Organizational skills and ability to multitask under demanding timeframes, with attention to detail and ability to prioritize assignments amid heavy workloads, competing deadlines, and frequent interruptions.
  • Knowledge of common university-specific computer applications, including Microsoft Office, organizational website content, and social media updates and maintenance.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience coordinating and managing large- and small-scale events.
  • Writing skills to compose accurate and professional documents for daily administrative and operational use, department newsletters, marketing materials, and other professional writing as needed.
  • Knowledge of university organizational structure, policies and procedures, and protocols related to academic administration.
  • Ability to work independently, follow through on assignments with minimal direction, and take initiative to eliminate or mitigate potential negative effects.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience or training.
  • One to three years of administrative experience supporting an academic unit.
  • Legal right to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support for the Research Development office and the Engineering+ Institutes.
  • Coordinate administrative functions supporting the school's research development mission, including institute activities, Engineering Center reviews, and events.
  • Coordinate meetings and events from concept through administration and evaluation, including site visits, securing speakers, venue selection, agenda setting, travel arrangements, and travel reimbursements.
  • Update and maintain website content related to research development and the Engineering+ Institutes.
  • Provide data tracking and analysis services by maintaining records, compiling data from multiple sources, and preparing draft reports.
  • Apply organizational policies and procedures to oversee ongoing administrative operational issues.
  • Analyze and resolve operational problems of moderate scope.
