Responsibilities
Learn to conduct routine surveys, studies, inspections, and investigations relating to improving or monitoring environmental conditions and enforcing environmental laws and regulations.
Collect and analyze water quality samples for freshwater assessment, including physical and chemical water quality, stream flow measurements, continuous monitoring, bacteriological monitoring, source trackdown, Harmful Algal Blooms, and emerging contaminant monitoring.
Use electronic and computerized equipment to measure water quality and accurately locate sampling sites.
Prepare accurate data reports containing findings and conclusions.
Maintain water quality data in an electronic database.
Operate state vehicles, including trucks and boats.
Attend internal and external meetings.
Perform other related duties.

Preferred Skill Set Experience collecting field samples & water quality samples; strong analytical, technical writing and presentation skills; experience with boat trailering, boat navigation and maintenance.
Requirements Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in one of the Physical Sciences, Environmental Sciences/Studies, Chemical Sciences, Biological Sciences, or in Environmental Planning, Environmental Policy, or Physical Geography; or in Civil Engineering, Sanitary Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Mining Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Bio-resource Engineering.
