Requirements
  • A master's or doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Two to three years of behavioral health or substance abuse field experience is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills are required; experience with electronic medical records is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, their loved ones, and professionals.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret human service periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Strong assessment skills.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence, and analyze policies and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Working knowledge of twelve-step programs of recovery.
  • Must be licensed at any level to provide counseling or as a psychologist in the state of operation; accepted Arizona licenses include LAC, LPC, LASAC, LISAC, LMSC, LCSW, or Psychologist.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, compassionate, and ethical substance abuse therapy to clients in scheduled individual, group, and family therapy settings.
  • Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Complete clinical assessments and documentation, including treatment plans, biopsychosocial assessments, concurrent reviews, discharge plans, group notes, and contact notes.
  • Provide group and individual treatment as directed by a supervisor.
  • Complete accurate clinical documentation on the same day as the date of service.
  • Maintain good standing with the appropriate board and insurance entities.
  • Complete all recommended continuing education requirements.
  • Stay current with updated research and best practices.
  • Maintain awareness of community referral sources and make referrals when necessary.
  • Secure client information in accordance with HIPAA standards.
  • Provide and attend in-service training as needed.
  • Participate in clinical supervision.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two to three years of experience working in the behavioral health or substance abuse field.
  • Experience with electronic medical records.
