Requirements
  • A Ph.D. degree in Materials Science, Bioengineering, Drug Delivery, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or other related life sciences, earned within three years of the start date.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to diverse interdisciplinary research projects.
  • Superior time management, critical thinking, documentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to publish novel research in peer-reviewed journals.
Responsibilities
  • Perform general experiments, including designing protocols when needed to optimize and characterize formulations in which vaccines and cells are stored.
  • Perform in vivo experiments, including preparation and characterization of vaccine candidates, collection and processing of samples, and data analysis.
  • Publish and present work in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and at national and international meetings.
  • Support the writing and preparation of grant applications for the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, Department of Defense, and other agencies.
  • Maintain records of safety and other administrative documents required for continual operation of the laboratory.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • One to two years of post-Ph.D. research experience.
  • Experience with aseptic technique, working under Biosafety Level II conditions, and animal work.
  • Experience with virus-based assays, including infectious titer and neutralizing antibodies.
  • Experience performing flow cytometry with primary cells.
  • Experience working with messenger RNA-based vaccines.
  • Some experience in bioinformatics or analysis of RNA sequencing datasets.
