Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy degree is required.
  • The candidate must be licensed and registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  • Acute care hospital pharmacy experience is required.
  • The candidate must be able to exercise independent judgment and assess situations and problems efficiently and effectively.
  • The candidate must possess strong communication skills and work effectively with inter-professional teams.
  • The candidate must exercise initiative, maintain strict confidentiality, and demonstrate patient-focused service.
  • The candidate must demonstrate focus on internal and external customer service and partnerships.

Responsibilities
  • Meet the medication-related needs of patients.
  • Maintain medication records and drug profiles.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers.
  • Contribute to maximizing medication safety and the medication management system.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and manage pharmacy operations while providing dispensary coverage.
Desired Qualifications
  • Proficiency with pharmacy computer systems.
  • Experience with an automated unit-dose drug distribution system.
  • Experience with intravenous admixture services, including provision of neonatal and adult total parenteral nutrition.
  • Ability to speak another language.
