  • Deep expertise in Solaris Zones, LDOMs, ZFS, and Solaris Cluster.
  • Deep expertise in AIX LPAR management, VIOS, NIM, and AIX LVM.
  • Experience with ITIL-aligned service management.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native or hybrid Unix workloads, including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and IBM Power Virtual Server.
  • Exposure to containerization using Podman or Docker on Unix platforms.
  • Prior experience in a people-manager or team-lead role.
  • Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for critical production systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, enterprise-grade operational environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
  • Completion of 15 years of full-time education.
Responsibilities
  • Act as a software detective by identifying and resolving issues across multiple components of critical business systems.
  • Own and resolve Level 3 escalations for Solaris and AIX environments while ensuring service-level agreement compliance and minimal business impact.
  • Perform root-cause analysis for critical incidents and author post-incident review documents and preventive action plans.
  • Manage operating-system patching, firmware updates, and security hardening across Unix platforms.
  • Administer Solaris Zones, LDOMs, IBM AIX LPARs, and WPARs with full lifecycle ownership.
  • Monitor system health, capacity, and performance using enterprise monitoring tools, and proactively tune systems.
  • Coordinate with storage, network, and application teams to resolve integrated problems.
  • Administer Oracle Solaris 10 and 11.x environments, including ZFS, ZFS send/receive, and DTrace-based diagnostics.
  • Manage Solaris Cluster configurations integrated with Oracle RAC for high availability and disaster recovery.
  • Configure and maintain SMF services, RBAC, the Audit Framework, and the Solaris Security Toolkit.
  • Manage SPARC and x86 hardware, including T-series and M-series systems, and liaise with Oracle support on hardware issues.
  • Administer Veritas Volume Manager and Veritas File System on Solaris.
  • Administer IBM Power Systems running AIX 7.x and manage LPARs through HMC and IVM.
  • Configure and manage VIOS for shared storage and network virtualization.
  • Administer JFS2 file systems, LVM physical volumes, volume groups, logical volumes, and ASM disk groups on AIX.
  • Handle AIX security hardening in accordance with CIS benchmarks and enterprise policies.
  • Manage NIM environments for operating-system deployments and alternate-disk migrations.
  • Perform AIX performance analysis using nmon, topas, vmstat, and sar.
  • Design and implement automation frameworks using KornShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, and/or Puppet.
  • Develop automated patching, compliance-checking, and deployment pipelines for Unix platforms.
  • Integrate Unix infrastructure automation with IT service management tools such as ServiceNow and JIRA through application programming interfaces.
  • Champion infrastructure-as-code practices within the Unix team.
  • Conduct periodic automation audits and retire legacy manual runbooks.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Unix system administrators, define goals, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Collaborate with project managers and architects on infrastructure design for new initiatives.
  • Engage with Oracle and IBM vendors for contract management and escalation support.
  • Produce management-level reporting on system availability, capacity trends, and project status.
  • Participate in the Change Advisory Board and ensure changes adhere to change-management processes.

Accenture shares down 27%, but 11.5% yield available through put options at 35% discount

Accenture trades 37% below its 52-week high after falling 27% over the past year. In fiscal Q3 2026, new bookings declined and some managed services deals slipped into fiscal 2027. The company generated $73.1 billion in revenue over the past twelve months, with operating margins widening to 17% in Q3. Managed services revenue grew 5% in local currency. In the first nine months of fiscal 2026, clients made 104 quarterly bookings exceeding $100 million, up 13% year-on-year. Consulting revenue grew just 1% in local currency in Q3. Management attributes the slowdown to the Middle East conflict affecting regional and discretionary spending. The CEO acknowledged that client budgets have not been growing, with spending simply being redirected rather than increased.

Accenture appoints Emma Chalwin as chief marketing officer

Accenture has appointed Emma Chalwin as Chief Marketing Officer, effective 1 October 2026. She will oversee global marketing and communications, reporting to Chair and CEO Julie Sweet. Accenture drops LearnVantage focus, shifts $9B to cybersecurity and mid-market expansion
