Requirements
  • The candidate must be at least 21 years old.
  • The candidate must complete a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • The candidate must possess and maintain a valid driver's license for the state where they reside.
  • The candidate must pass a physical examination every two years as required by the Department of Transportation or company policy.
  • The candidate must achieve satisfactory pre-employment and post-employment criminal, drug, and motor vehicle screening results.
  • The candidate must successfully complete required departmental training courses within 60 days of hire.
  • The candidate must attain and maintain all state and local licensing requirements.
  • The candidate must be able to complete additional future department training and adjust their schedule to attend training when required.
  • The candidate must communicate effectively in writing, verbally, and using assigned technology.
  • The candidate must use hand tools to provide service.
  • The candidate must have basic email and Global Positioning System skills.
  • The candidate must operate passenger vehicles and light- to medium-duty trucks from a service vehicle.
  • The candidate must operate vehicles with manual and automatic transmissions.
  • The candidate must lift and carry equipment weighing up to 75 pounds and bend, kneel, balance, change tires, inspect vehicles, and push vehicles.
Responsibilities
  • Provide tow and recovery services using established guidelines and quality control procedures.
  • Provide lockout, fuel delivery, battery jump-start, and tire-change services using established guidelines and quality control procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with members to keep them informed and ensure their safety.
  • Make sound decisions regarding safe vehicle servicing and accommodate member needs.
  • Enter call information accurately into in-truck technology, process payments, handle cash, and complete required reports.
  • Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections to ensure safe operating condition and compliance with requirements.
  • Secure fleet vehicles and all equipment at all times, including when vehicles are not in use.
  • Support AAA by participating in special events such as parades, television, radio, and social media activities promoting the brand.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Three years of experience in an automotive or mechanical environment, technical school, or at least three years of experience in sales or customer service is preferred.
