Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding technology support matters, responding to inquiries through telephone, email, and other communication channels, gathering information, resolving issues, and answering questions.
  • Troubleshoot customer issues related to website applications, software programs, online account access, and other technology products.
  • Identify, document, and report software defects affecting agency partners and insureds, assist with resolving them, and test software enhancements and fixes to verify resolution.
  • Answer underwriting-related questions about commercial automobile and property new business and renewal policies for agency distribution partners.
  • Assist agents with online rating platforms, submission workflows, and policy processing systems, and monitor and communicate submission status as appropriate.
  • Identify underwriting support concerns, resolve them independently when appropriate, or escalate them to internal resources.
  • Participate in testing and validating new software applications, system updates, and technology enhancements, and collaborate with software development teams to improve functionality, usability, and customer experience.
  • Support agency service initiatives to improve communication processes, data quality, workflow efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new Client Services team members, including developing training materials and process documentation.
  • Train and mentor team members on updated procedures, new systems, and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, support activities, and issue resolution efforts.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement through data analysis, feedback collection, and problem-solving.

Berkshire's NICO pays Hartford $1.12bn to commute reinsurance cover. 28th September 2026 - Author: Kane Wells - The Hartford Insurance Group has agreed to commute and terminate its aggregate excess of loss reinsurance agreement with National Indemnity Company (NICO), a Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary, ending cover for asbestos and environmental adverse development that has been in place since December 31, 2016. Hartford Fire Insurance Company and certain affiliates entered into the commutation and release agreement with NICO on September 23. On September 25, Hartford Fire received a $1.12bn cash payment, and the parties terminated the reinsurance agreement and related transaction documents and released each other from their obligations. The transaction also resolves a confidential arbitration over a dispute under the agreement. Hartford expects to recognise a $497m pre-tax net gain and a $393m increase in net income for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2026, with no impact on core earnings. The company said the gain reflects the release of deferred gain on retroactive reinsurance following the commutation.

The perfunctory business was dispensed with in just five minutes.
