Requirements
  • At least 8 years of experience in the energy sector, utilities, infrastructure, or large-scale project delivery.
  • At least 3 years of people leadership or team management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives involving senior stakeholders and high-consequence operational, technical, regulatory, customer, or commercial decisions.
  • Strong understanding of transmission and distribution systems, grid operations, interconnection requirements, reliability standards, and operational readiness, or equivalent utility leadership experience demonstrating the ability to rapidly develop and apply this expertise.
  • Executive presence and communication skills sufficient to represent Georgia Power with customer executives, senior internal leaders, peer utilities, and industry stakeholders.
  • High judgment and comfort making decisions in ambiguous, fast-moving, and high-growth conditions where commercial opportunity and reliability protection must be balanced.
  • Ability to enforce technical standards while maintaining constructive relationships with customers and internal partners.
  • Strong systems thinking and enterprise perspective, connecting planning, operations, contracts, compliance, customer commitments, forecasting, transmission and distribution readiness, and leadership decision-making.
  • Ability to build consensus, manage conflict, drive decisions across organizational boundaries, and escalate only when issues require executive intervention.
  • Strong written communication skills, including preparing executive updates, customer-facing explanations, technical summaries, readiness decisions, and governance justifications.
Responsibilities
  • Own the enterprise operating model for large load integration across Georgia Power, including governance, stage gates, readiness criteria, escalation paths, decision rights, accountabilities, documentation standards, and audit-ready workflows.
  • Lead cross-functional governance so technical, customer, operational, legal, commercial, regulatory, construction, planning, compliance, and operating needs are aligned into one execution path.
  • Make strategic recommendations on whether projects should proceed to energization, continue under provisional conditions, pause for mitigation, or be escalated due to reliability or commercial risk.
  • Resolve cross-functional conflicts involving customer timing, system readiness, technical compliance, contractual commitments, affordability objectives, and operational needs.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting cadences covering pipeline status, customer readiness, technical compliance, open risks, escalation needs, and major decisions.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying process gaps, inconsistent practices, documentation weaknesses, technical standard gaps, and customer communication needs without compromising reliability.
  • Maintain accountability for compliance with Southern Company policies, Georgia Power rules and regulations, applicable transmission-connected large-load technical requirements, and current or emerging reliability expectations before energization, during load ramping, and through ongoing operations.
  • Lead review and enforcement of customer performance requirements, including ride-through, ramp-rate limits, load volatility, oscillation exposure, customer communications, modeling data, monitoring, operational forecasting, and evolving technical requirements.
  • Direct customers and internal teams toward mitigation plans when load behavior exceeds technical limits, including customer controls, grid upgrades, operating strategies, monitoring, testing, and operating limits.
  • Hold customers accountable for demonstrating readiness to operate within approved limits before energization or before moving beyond a provisional operating period.
  • Identify, assess, escalate, and mitigate risks affecting generation, transmission, protection schemes, balancing functions, operating procedures, or system reliability.
  • Coordinate with Compliance, Legal, Transmission Operations, Planning and Policy, and external industry stakeholders so the integration process remains defensible, auditable, and aligned with standards.
  • Apply technical requirements consistently while using sound engineering judgment for customer-specific operating protocols and mitigation plans.
  • Serve as Georgia Power’s primary operational and technical integration leader for large-load customers and external partners, engaging senior leaders at customers, industry groups, peer utilities, regulators, reliability organizations, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead customer discussions when technical requirements affect design, schedule, load ramp, operational flexibility, contractual commitments, cost sharing, contingency planning, provisional operating agreements, or operating protocols.
  • Explain the purpose of technical requirements, evaluate mitigation options, and hold firm on reliability standards without routine Vice President intervention.
  • Partner with Customers, Legal, Regulatory, Transmission, Strategic Growth, and executive leadership so integration decisions support customer commitments while protecting reliability, affordability, and existing customers.
  • Evaluate and communicate the impacts of technical non-compliance, delayed mitigation, late-stage design changes, uncertain end-use load behavior, load ramp uncertainty, customer timeline pressure, revenue opportunity, affordability, and system reliability.
  • Reduce late surprises, rework, avoidable conflict, and unrecovered risk tied to large-load energization.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of large-load integration project managers, engineers, and technical specialists as business needs evolve.
  • Set clear expectations, coach performance, prioritize work across a large and growing customer portfolio, and reinforce organizational values.
  • Create role clarity among project management, technical review, customer engagement, compliance, operational, and post-energization monitoring responsibilities.
  • Develop bench strength and succession capability in a specialized and emerging area.

Robinhood, Coinbase jumped, Marvell and edison slumped.

Robinhood, Coinbase jumped, Marvell and edison slumped. The wild price swings among the sectors continued in the last day. Discount trading firms Robinhood (HOOD) and Futu Holdings (FUTU) broke out of their recent uptrend. Renewed momentum for the U.S. Clarity Act, which regulates cryptocurrencies, lifted those stocks. Higher crypto trading volumes would increase revenues for Robinhood and Coinbase (COIN). HOOD stock gained 13% in the last week while COIN stock jumped by 25.6%. Short interest on Coinbase shares is at 10.12%. In the storage sector, Marvell Technology (MRVL) fell to its 50-day moving average, down by 5.57% last Friday. The firm will expand its range of custom silicon programs that attach to Alphabet's (GOOG) TPU chip. That includes AI inference accelerators, storage and network controllers, and near-memory compute. Edison International (EIX) revisited the $70 lows. Earlier this month, the LA County report wrote that electrical sparks from EIX's out-of-service transmission tower caused California's Eaton fire. The firm already took responsibility for the fire. It offered more than $775 million in funds to support the Wildfire Recovery Compensation Program. EIX stock is a compelling investment. Its dividend yields 4.83%. The firm has good value, strong profitability, and saw bullish EPS and revenue revisions from analysts in the last three months. Edison's peers include PG&E (PCG), ConEd (ED), and The Southern Company (SO).
