About the job
- At least 2 years of experience using Kong.
- Deep understanding of Kong's architecture, functionalities, and API gateway management.
- Proficiency in RESTful API design, OpenAPI specifications, and microservices architectures.
- Strong experience with scripting languages such as Lua or Python, and potentially JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Familiarity with DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and tools such as Git, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
- Experience with API testing, functional testing, test automation tools, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and their integration with Kong.
- Understanding of API security tools and protocols such as OAuth, OIDC, and RBAC.
- Amenability to work in Ortigas in a hybrid arrangement.
- Design, develop, and maintain APIs using Kong.
- Create custom Kong plugins to extend functionality, such as authentication, authorization, or traffic control.
- Integrate Kong with existing APIs, services, and applications.
- Monitor the API gateway, troubleshoot issues, and ensure its performance and stability.
- Maintain API specifications, documentation, and developer portals.
- Work closely with other developers, architects, and stakeholders.
- Keep up to date with the latest Kong features, best practices, and security updates.
