About the job

Requirements
  • Have 4–7 years of B2B SaaS sales or account management experience, including at least 2 years consistently closing $100k+ deals per year and managing a book of business worth $2M+ ARR.
  • Have a track record of consistently exceeding Net Revenue Retention or expansion targets, with 130%+ NRR as the stated bar and examples of significant customer expansions.
  • Have experience with complex, multi-stakeholder sales processes involving technical buyers, 6–12 month sales cycles, consensus-building across buying committees, and six-figure deals.
  • Be able to conduct value-based, solutions-oriented selling, uncover business pain, position product capabilities as strategic solutions, communicate complex ideas clearly, write proposals and business cases, and present to senior stakeholders.
  • Be comfortable discussing technical concepts with RevOps and data teams, translating requirements into product demonstrations, and articulating technical value to non-technical executives.
  • Be able to work in ambiguity, build processes from scratch, take ownership beyond the job description, and work without perfect clarity.
  • Be able to navigate contracts, negotiate terms, handle security questionnaires, and move deals through legal and procurement independently.
  • Be comfortable with technical stakeholders and CRM, data-model, and API-integration concepts.
  • Have a record of meeting or exceeding expansion and renewal quotas and managing a significant book of business.
  • Be willing to collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Success, Product, and Engineering.
Responsibilities
  • Own and execute complex expansion and renewal cycles across a $2M+ book of mid-market and enterprise accounts, managing six- to seven-figure deals with technical, multi-stakeholder buying groups from start to close.
  • Drive Net Revenue Retention by identifying expansion opportunities, negotiating renewals, preventing churn, and growing revenue across the portfolio.
  • Use consultative, value-based selling to understand customers’ RevOps challenges, articulate return on investment, and position Kernel as mission-critical infrastructure for their CRM data strategy.
  • Own customer relationships alongside Implementation and Solutions Engineers, sourcing expansion opportunities through account mapping, strategic outreach, and engagement with accounts.
  • Build and refine the Account Management playbook, including repeatable expansion processes, renewal cadences, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and GTM leadership to shape expansion strategy, share customer insights with the product roadmap, and define the enterprise selling motion.
  • Navigate complex contracts, security reviews, and legal discussions independently to move deals forward.
  • Discuss CRM hierarchies, data hygiene, territory planning, and technical challenges of managing company data at scale with RevOps professionals.
  • Explain and pitch the product, translating technical capabilities into business value for VP-level stakeholders.
  • Run data-driven account reviews and strategic planning sessions to prioritize time for maximum revenue impact.
Desired Qualifications
  • Background in data infrastructure, CRM platforms, or API-first products.
  • Startup or scale-up experience, especially in Series A–C companies building a commercial function from the ground up.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.
