About the job

Requirements
  • At least 7 years of progressive experience in electrical power generation, microgrid, industrial controls, commissioning, or electrical testing, including leadership or supervisory responsibility.
  • An associate degree or technical diploma in electrical engineering technology, electrical systems, instrumentation and controls, power systems, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of generator controls and paralleling, automatic transfer systems, low- and medium-voltage switchgear, protective relays, electrical schematics, control wiring, programmable logic controller or controller configuration, industrial communications networks and protocols, supervisory control and data acquisition interfaces, and commissioning documentation.
  • Experience leading or coordinating commissioning activities from pre-mobilization through factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, troubleshooting, turnover, and closeout on distributed generation, microgrid, industrial, utility, or mission-critical facilities, including large-scale, high-volume project environments.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain or maintain required site, safety, electrical, and customer-specific qualifications.
  • Willingness to travel nationally, work at active construction and operating sites, support extended or non-standard schedules when required, and perform field work around energized and rotating equipment in accordance with established safety controls.
Responsibilities
  • Manage, coach, and develop commissioning technicians by establishing technical expectations, work standards, training plans, and field support practices.
  • Serve as the first technical escalation point for commissioning technicians and resolve routine commissioning issues before Director-level involvement is required.
  • Own commissioning readiness for assigned projects, including scope review, staffing, schedule, procedures, tools, drawings, test plans, customer requirements, and open technical questions.
  • Plan and lead factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, and final energization of programmable logic controllers, protective relays, generating-set controllers, and switchgear.
  • Lead commissioning execution directly on straightforward low-voltage sites and coordinate the commissioning scope for unique and medium-voltage sites.
  • Develop and maintain commissioning procedures, test plans, and check sheets, and verify that as-commissioned configurations match the approved design and fleet engineering standard.
  • Verify protection settings, control logic, communications, and sequences of operation in the field, and confirm correct end-to-end behavior between the control layer and supervisory control and data acquisition.
  • Partner with the Automation and Controls engineering team on advanced sites to coordinate technician-led commissioning and engineering-led controls integration.
  • Own field safety during commissioning, including energization readiness, lockout/tagout boundaries, and job safety analyses; hold or escalate any energization that does not meet readiness criteria.
  • Provide technical oversight of third-party relay and protection testing, review results, and ensure required issues are tracked through resolution.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, Project Management, Operations and Maintenance, Network Operations Center and supervisory control and data acquisition teams, third-party testing providers, and customers to resolve dependencies and maintain schedule alignment.
  • Identify, document, and drive resolution of commissioning findings and punch-list items, and review commissioning data, test reports, and turnover packages for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with design intent.
  • Maintain commissioning records and turnover and closeout documentation, and feed field findings back to engineering to improve the fleet standard and reduce recurring issues.
  • Establish repeatable commissioning procedures, checklists, templates, controller files, test records, and lessons learned, particularly for first-of-kind technologies and configurations.
  • Identify resource conflicts and execution risks early, communicate them clearly, and recommend practical solutions to protect project delivery.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, qualification, and progression of commissioning technicians, and contribute to development of the commissioning training program.
  • Perform other responsibilities as directed by the supervisor.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with ComAp, DSE, or comparable generator control platforms.
  • Experience with medium-voltage microgrid integration.
  • Experience coordinating NETA or relay testing.
  • Formal commissioning management experience on mission-critical projects.
  • Experience with technical training or qualification programs.

About the company

Enchanted Rock provides fully managed natural gas–powered microgrids as a resiliency service for mission-critical customers. It designs, installs, monitors 24/7, and maintains distributed generation systems that keep essential power on during grid failures, and these microgrids can feed power back to the grid when not in use to offset costs. The systems use natural gas and renewable natural gas to reduce emissions versus diesel backups, with potential for future hydrogen blending, and they are designed to be quieter with a smaller footprint. The company aims to improve power reliability for critical infrastructure while offering an affordable, sustainable backup option and creating revenue streams for clients through grid interconnections and reserve power services.

Erock soars 23% on $1.7B backlog from 470-MW Anthropic deal

Erock Inc. jumped 22.84% to $13.82 on Wednesday following a major equipment deal with Anthropic. The onsite power solutions provider secured a 470-MW order from Anthropic, pushing its contracted power system sales backlog to $1.7 billion and extending production commitments through 2028. The rally came despite weak second-quarter results. Erock posted net losses of $67.7 million, up 748% year-on-year due to IPO-related charges, whilst revenues fell 42% to $39.88 million. CEO John Carrington highlighted AI infrastructure's impact on power markets. The company began operations at its Hyperion manufacturing facility and started construction on a 366-MW project supporting Meta's data centre campus. For the full year, Erock targets revenues of $435 million to $465 million and adjusted EBITDA of $3 million to $9 million.

JPMorgan tips $700M fintech Wise and power firm ERock for rebounds after rough IPO debuts

J.P. Morgan has identified two recent IPO stocks with significant rebound potential despite post-listing struggles. ERock (EROC), which provides utility-scale power solutions for data centres and critical infrastructure, has fallen 42% since its June IPO that raised $600 million. J.P. Morgan analyst Mark Strouse rates it Overweight with a $24 price target, implying 122% upside. The company's natural gas-fired modular power systems address growing demand for backup power as grid reliability faces pressure. Wise (WSE), the fintech firm processing cross-border payments, has dropped 18% since moving its primary listing to Nasdaq in May. Despite regulatory scrutiny in Belgium, the company reported $2.5 billion revenue and $660.4 million pre-tax income in fiscal 2026. J.P. Morgan analyst Craig McDowell maintains an Overweight rating with a $17.50 target, suggesting 37% upside. Both stocks have Strong Buy or Moderate Buy consensus ratings from Wall Street analysts.
