Requirements
  • Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Work alongside professional engineers, engineers-in-training, graduate engineers, and designers to design heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, create mechanical drawings, perform design calculations, and conduct code research.
  • Perform plumbing design for domestic cold water, hot water, sanitary waste and vent, roof drainage, gas, and compressed-air utilities.
  • Design constant-volume and variable-volume ductwork systems.
  • Prepare cost estimates, specifications, and design analyses.
  • Manage workload and varying requirements across multiple projects and project types, including commercial, industrial, faith-based, K-12 and higher education, retail, warehouse, and core-and-shell projects.
  • Provide field reports documenting installed conditions against design documents.
  • Accompany engineers on site visits to observe ongoing company projects and review existing conditions.
Desired Qualifications
  • Completion of 12–18 hours of Mechanical Engineering courses.
  • Exposure to AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Exposure to Revit, Bluebeam, Autodesk Inventor, HAP, or Trace 700.
