The Role
FL97 is seeking a dedicated and skilled Director of People & Culture to join our team. This individual will be involved in building FL97’s team during a window of dynamic growth. The leadership team of FL97 believes that people are our culture, and mission-oriented culture is a critical variable in the race to manifesting Scientific Superintelligence; therefore, our Director of People and Culture will be one of our most critical enablers on the road to success. This role will report to the Chief People Officer and part of the new HR team at FL97. We are looking for a proven and energic HR leader who knows the rule book, but is excited to approach the position in new, dynamic, and exciting ways.
Outcomes
- Influences and carries out FL97’s people strategy, acting as a thought partner on strategic outcomes while executing cutting-edge people and culture initiatives.
Talent Training and Development
- Manage a world-class combination of talent and training systems, aimed at achieving the FL97 mission.
- Utilize modern AI, software, and other tools to enhance performance across the FL97 ecosystem.
- Build and deliver a holistic employee development strategy, including people management training to enhance leadership capabilities across the organization.
- Modernize performance management process to support continuous improvement and goal alignment, focusing on rapid feedback cycles and fostering a growth mindset.
Team Building & Recruitment
- Immediately take ownership of the recruiting pipeline in partnership with Flagship Talent Acquisition team. Ready to oversee the hiring of a junior recruiter (if/as needed) in coordination with the boarder FL97 leadership team.
Employee Engagement & Company Culture
- Codify and embed FL97’s culture into all aspects of our work and interactions
- Encourage and drive accountability for leadership to engage culturally within the office and in key forums, during both highs and lows of the company’s road ahead.
- Constant focus on refining and mapping improved culture and operating behaviors.
- Design incentives that drive desired culture and behaviors across the total rewards spectrum.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; additional certification in Human Resources (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) a plus.
- Proven experience in start-ups and scaling HR, preferably in the technology or biotech industries
- In-depth knowledge and proven track record across the spectrum of HR offerings including talent acquisition, talent management, compliance, personnel review cycles, employee relations, and leadership coaching with an ability to execute those tasks in a hands-on manner while the team is lean.
