Requirements
  • A doctorate in a relevant field of the course or a master's degree in a relevant field plus five years of relevant professional experience.
  • Professional experience in an area of expertise such as instructional design, mathematics specialization, reading teaching, or reading specialization.
Responsibilities
  • Facilitate classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance.
  • Develop instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction.
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for students regarding specific course or series content and expectations.
  • Teach courses as assigned in the designated modality.
  • Prepare for and hold assigned classes.
  • Maintain currency in the content area related to the teaching assignment.
  • Evaluate students' work and assess student outcomes.
  • Provide regular and substantive feedback on student work.
  • Maintain appropriate records and hold office hours.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the department chair or dean.
Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience teaching or facilitating online courses for adult learners.
  • Proficiency in online learning management systems, such as Canvas.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong written and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in oral and written English communication.
