About the job

Requirements
  • You have 2+ years of product management experience and likely 5+ years of total professional experience.
  • You can take a complicated, ambiguous workflow and turn it into a clear problem statement, a tractable product scope, and concrete acceptance criteria.
  • You have strong core product management skills in scoping, prioritization, tradeoff analysis, writing clear requirements, and driving cross-functional execution.
  • You are highly data fluent, naturally ask how success will be measured, define metrics as part of product development, and use evidence to decide whether to keep investing in a product.
  • You have built products for complex workflows, ideally in B2B software, internal tools, operations-heavy environments, or domains where understanding how people work matters more than designing a consumer interface.
  • You use AI to move faster, understand technical systems, prototype ideas, and reduce the distance between an idea and something usable.
  • You should be comfortable understanding technical systems and working closely with engineers; prior software engineering experience is not required.
Responsibilities
  • Work directly with teams across the business to understand complex workflows, identify bottlenecks and failure modes, and translate them into simple product and automation improvements.
  • Write clear product specifications with explicit requirements, acceptance criteria, edge cases, and measures of success; break large problems into the smallest useful versions and assess when additional complexity is not worthwhile.
  • Own execution across design and engineering, resolve tradeoffs quickly, keep projects moving, and ensure shipped products solve the underlying problem.
  • Use modern AI tools in day-to-day product work to prototype ideas, explore workflows, interrogate technical systems, and make simple product changes when that is the fastest path to learning.
  • Define success metrics before development begins, ensure products are instrumented to measure outcomes, and use resulting data to determine whether to iterate, expand, or move on.
  • Help establish scalable product processes as the company grows without introducing unnecessary bureaucracy, bringing strong opinions about good product development and adapting them to an environment that values speed.
  • Balance user needs, implementation complexity, speed, and expected impact; determine when to keep optimizing and when a product is good enough to move forward.
Desired Qualifications
  • Operations or BizOps experience transitioning into product, bringing operational intuition, analytical rigor, and a focus on business outcomes.
  • Experience moving from an early-stage product management role to a scaled technology company, with knowledge of operating quickly with limited structure and of strong product processes as teams grow.
  • Consulting experience transitioning into product, bringing structured problem solving, comfort with complex domains, communication, and experience turning ambiguous problems into clear recommendations.
  • Insurance experience is not required; domain expertise can be developed through work with the team and customers.

About the company

Coverage.com is an online insurance comparison marketplace that helps consumers shop for auto, home, condo, and renters coverage rather than underwriting policies itself. Visitors answer a few questions about their needs and receive tailored options from a range of partner insurance carriers, and can schedule consultations with licensed agents to complete a purchase. A Red Ventures company, it earns revenue through advertising and affiliate compensation from the insurers it features, which can influence how products are displayed. What sets Coverage.com apart is its role as an independent comparison platform that presents multiple carriers side by side, pairing self-service quoting tools with access to agents rather than selling a single company's products. The goal is to make buying insurance simpler and more transparent by helping shoppers weigh options and find coverage suited to their situation.

What believers are saying

  • CMS reported 24.2 million Marketplace enrollees on January 17, 2025, supporting insurance shopping demand.
  • QuinStreet said August 6, 2026 results were record fiscal 2026, signaling strong marketplace execution.
  • Coverage.com's 2026 site monetizes ads and affiliates, diversifying revenue beyond lead commissions.

What critics are saying

  • Google traffic shifts can starve the lead funnel and crush quote volume quickly.
  • QuinStreet's Insurance.com dominance pressures Coverage.com into commoditized price-comparison battles every quarter.
  • Carrier underwriting pullbacks or affiliate changes can erase commissions and force costly traffic buys.

What makes Coverage.com unique

  • QuinStreet powers Coverage.com with carrier integrations and licensed agency partnerships in 2026.
  • Coverage.com spans home, condo, renters, and auto quotes across all 50 states.
  • Its performance-marketing model routes searchers into comparison funnels, not a single insurer brand.
