About the Job

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are required.
  • Have shipped production agentic AI systems on AWS for real users, rather than only proofs of concept or notebooks.
  • Understand agentic architecture and be able to design an agent system from first principles and explain its components.
  • Understand agent design patterns, including single-agent and multi-agent systems, supervisor/orchestrator patterns, hierarchical agent topologies, planner–executor separation, and when each applies.
  • Build and operate orchestrator agents that decompose tasks, route work to specialist agents or tools, and manage state across multi-step workflows; experience with LangGraph, Strands Agents, CrewAI, or equivalent is relevant.
  • Understand short-term/working memory, including context management and conversation state, and long-term memory, including episodic and semantic stores and vector- and graph-backed retrieval, along with their production trade-offs.
  • Implement reflection and self-correction patterns, including critique loops, self-evaluation, retry-with-feedback, and evaluation harnesses that identify agent failures.
  • Design tool use and function calling, including schemas, tool-selection reliability, error handling, and agent-to-agent composition.
  • Build retrieval-augmented generation and retrieval pipelines, including chunking, embedding, hybrid retrieval, reranking, and grounding agent decisions in customer data.
  • Have strong production experience with AWS, including Amazon Bedrock and AWS AI services, and relevant platform services such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, RDS/Aurora, Glue, EMR, Redshift, or Kinesis.
  • Have solid software engineering fundamentals in Python and TypeScript, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and test-driven development.
  • Indicative experience is roughly 3–10 years in engineering roles, with agentic AI or generative AI as the current day job; demonstrated agent-native expertise is valued over tenure.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver production agentic AI systems and AWS modernization engagements by committed dates across data platform modernization, application and database modernization, and AI agents for applications.
  • Build and productionize AI agents, orchestration, retrieval pipelines, evaluation harnesses, and observability against real customer data.
  • Convert existing products into agents by exposing product functionality as callable tools for agent-to-agent composition or replacing form-and-click user experiences with agent-native, intent-driven interfaces.
  • Convert existing business processes into agents by exposing process functionality as callable tools for agent-to-agent composition or replacing form-and-click user experiences with agent-native, intent-driven interfaces.
  • Embed directly with customer engineering teams, run architecture sessions, defend design decisions, and align stakeholders from vice presidents of engineering to chief technology officers.
  • Make agent decisions traceable and defensible, run validation in parallel with live workloads, and ensure outputs meet internal audit and regulator expectations, including HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and financial-services-grade governance where required.
  • Feed field experience back into the platform and practice; deployment patterns, integration playbooks, and edge cases inform delivery.

Desired Qualifications

  • Delivery experience in financial services, healthcare and life sciences, internet and software, manufacturing, or telecommunications/media/entertainment/gaming/sports.
  • Model tuning and fine-tuning experience, including systematic prompt engineering and optimization; parameter-efficient fine-tuning such as LoRA/QLoRA; instruction tuning; working knowledge of RLHF/DPO; judgment on fine-tuning versus prompting versus retrieval-augmented generation; and evaluating tuned models against baselines. Fine-tuning on Amazon Bedrock or SageMaker is a plus.
  • Experience with compliance-sensitive AI systems, including HIPAA, PCI-DSS, SOC 2, or data residency.
  • Knowledge graph, code analysis using abstract syntax trees, or change data capture/streaming experience such as Debezium or Kafka/MSK.
  • Solid software engineering fundamentals in Java, C++, Go, .NET, or Rust.
  • Prior customer-facing consulting or forward-deployed experience.
  • AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect Professional, Machine Learning Specialty, or Data Analytics.
