Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Must hold a Secret security clearance.
  • Must have a high school diploma.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Must have experience with radio voice and data communication equipment.
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience with Navy or Coast Guard communications systems.
  • Must be willing to travel within and outside the continental United States.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.
  • Must be able to operate, troubleshoot, and repair U.S. Navy high-frequency and ultra-high-frequency radio systems, with a focus on Digital Modular Radio and the ARC-210 family.
  • Must be familiar with test instruments and their application to communications systems.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be able to work in low-lit areas for long periods.
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to diagnose, repair, and overhaul communication equipment and ancillary equipment.
  • Operate, maintain, repair, and overhaul U.S. Navy communications equipment.
  • Support repair alignment and maintenance activities.
  • Interface directly with prime customers and other industry partners.
  • Support Naval Information Warfare Center requirements for Littoral Combat Ships exterior communication line-of-sight and satellite communications.
  • Travel to domestic and overseas locations to support In-Service Engineering Agency requirements.
  • Provide shipboard support for In-Service Engineering Agency communication requirements.
  • Provide system engineering assistance for life-cycle sustainment and modernization support.
  • Keep managers and supervisors apprised of work progress and comply with contract requirements and company policies.
  • Organize and prioritize personal work and any assigned staff work.
  • Research and analyze data.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior military A-school or C-school training.
  • Technical training for high-frequency or ultra-high-frequency systems, on-the-job training, or equivalent.
  • Expertise in repair, alignment, overhaul, sustainment, and modernization of all Digital Modular Radio variants.
  • Expertise in repair, alignment, overhaul, sustainment, and modernization of all ARC-210 radio system variants.
  • Factory training certification for Digital Modular Radio and ARC-210 radio systems.
  • Background in shipboard communications and knowledge or expertise with one or more of the listed communications, switching, coupler, antenna, and radio systems, including Digital Modular Radio; AN/URT-23C, D, and E; AN/USQ-155 Tactical Variant Switch; SA-2112 BAS and SAS; AN/WSC-3; UHF couplers; AN/URC-93; HF couplers; AN/URC-109; antenna tilt groups; shipboard antenna systems; AN/URC-141; AN/USC-42; TD-1271; and high-, ultra-, or very-high-frequency systems.
