Requirements
  • Two years of relevant experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the Associate’s degree.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Successfully pass the background check and drug test required on the contract.
  • Hold a current, valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to communicate and present information effectively to students, management, line staff, corporate and Department of Labor personnel, and public groups.
  • Ability to develop rapport and positive working relationships with all departments.
  • Ability to complete departmental work accurately and on time.
  • Ability to deal with diverse groups of people in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to comply with company safety policies and use required personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to comply with company standard operating procedures and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Ability to regularly walk and climb stairs, observe the Center environment, respond rapidly to physical altercations or emergencies, safely operate a passenger vehicle while supervising students, and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain work-based learning program linkages with local employers.
  • Coordinate the Center’s ACT college program with a local college and ensure full slot utilization.
  • Manage the ACT program and any developed OCT training programs, including monitoring agreements and students in off-center and ACT training programs.
  • Coordinate attendance, transportation, meals, meal deliveries, and billing approval.
  • Maintain relationships with federal, state, and local agencies, employers, and contracted placement agencies to support student placement into jobs, continuing education, or the armed forces.
  • Assist recruiters with outreach services as needed.
  • Participate in career preparation curricula and career transition activities.
  • Counsel students regarding career goals, options, requirements, and services.
  • Assist students with resume preparation, work-based learning preparation, and job-search activities.
  • Coordinate student placement into work-based learning and monitor student progress.
  • Counsel students regarding performance, evaluation, problem resolution, decision-making, accountability, and transition issues.
  • Participate in student performance evaluation panels for students in work-based learning or off-center training and prepare required documentation.
  • Support the career development services system, Center behavior standards, and zero-tolerance policy.
  • Transport students for work-based learning purposes as needed.
  • Teach, model, and evaluate student employability skills.
  • Coordinate schedule changes to accommodate program needs.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Promote career success standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students, monitoring skill acquisition, and intervening when inappropriate behavior is observed.
  • Maintain a Center climate free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect.
  • Complete all mandated training requirements.
  • Perform duties in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Complete departmental work accurately and on time.
