FL94 Inc., is a privately held, early-stage biotechnology company pioneering Protein Editing. At FL94 we create small molecules that edit protein structure and function to unlock presently undruggable targets and a broad array of therapeutic modalities. The Director of FL94 platform chemistry will be responsible for developing and executing on the generative covalent chemistry platform including screening library generation, ML integration, hit ID and validation, and rapid progression of hits to pivotal in vitro and in vivo PoC compounds. 

The qualifying candidate will demonstrate all the following attributes:

• A clear command of classical and modern synthetic methodologies relevant to 21^st century drug discovery
• Have direct experience with or be well informed of modern covalent chemistry across the full range of reactive amino acids
• Clearly demonstrable experience in the discovery of orally bio-available beyond rule-of-5 small molecules including PROTACs and other heterobifunctional molecules.
• Deep understanding of the interplay between chemistry and multiparameter SAR development
• Maximizing ML’s impact on lead identification and advancement
• Successfully completed (delivered or killed) advanced hits progressing from early screening en route to LO program nominations
• Track record of DC nominations à INDs à clinical stage drug candidates
• The grit of a passionate innovator solving today’s problems and creating tomorrow’s opportunities

The successful candidate will have all the following credentials necessary to perform in a fast-paced, purposeful, highly integrated, and pioneering environment

• PhD in organic chemistry including and 10+ years relevant pharmaceutical experience
• Experience in building, maintaining, and as needed adjusting high performing teams
• Experience managing offshore CRO chemistry maximizing for quality, efficiency, and value creation
• Strategic thinker and planner consistent with the business, science, and innovation needs of FL94
• Be a thought leader and functional representative in a multi-functional environment tasked with creating first or best in class small molecule protein editors
• Clear communicator, authentic leadership qualities, open to take and give feedback up, down and across the organization.
