Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technical, Engineering, Math) or related scientific areas is required.
  • At least 8 years of experience with a bachelor's degree or 6 years of experience with a master's degree in guidance, navigation, and control system analysis, design, and verification on spacecraft is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in guidance, navigation, and control system analysis, design, and verification on spacecraft is required.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink and STK is required.
  • Proficiency in modeling, simulating, and analyzing the performance of spacecraft guidance, navigation, and control sensors, actuators, dynamics, and algorithms is required.
  • Familiarity and experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering, SysML/UML, and processes involving requirements, architectures, interfaces, and trade studies are required.
  • Familiarity with software development, verification, and validation is required.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming in C and C++ and scripting languages TCL and Python is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement guidance, navigation, and control designs for new spacecraft to accommodate new mission payloads on Airbus spacecraft platforms.
  • Analyze, design, and develop guidance, navigation, and control systems, including sensors and actuators, algorithms and flight software, and guidance, navigation, and control electronics.
  • Support the development of subsystem-level requirements and flow-down of requirements to components and parts throughout the development lifecycle, emphasizing Design for Cost, Design for Manufacturability, and Design for Test approaches.
  • Ensure maximum reuse of existing Airbus heritage products and identify required modifications when necessary.
  • Drive multiple design activities across programs or missions, including spacecraft, payload, satellite bus, and launch integration activities.
  • Participate in cross-functional planning, coordination, and task execution involving engineering and integration activities across the full spectrum of the lifecycle.
  • Support the Airbus spacecraft development product roadmap, including design adjustments, schedule, and cost targets aligned with future business captures.
  • Support the definition of the spacecraft customization process for customer mission needs.
  • Perform GNC systems engineering activities to build, maintain, and evolve Airbus spacecraft products.
  • Promote and optimize cost savings through reuse of heritage platform designs and manufacturing infrastructures for constellation prospects.
