About the job
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Housing Choice Voucher Specialist certification must be obtained within one year of hire.
- At least two years of experience in public-facing or customer service roles is required; experience beyond the minimum may substitute for part of the educational requirement.
- Strong computer skills are required.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and math skills are required.
- Pre-employment drug screening is required.
- Process applications and check eligibility for housing programs.
- Assist with re-certifications, rent adjustments, and moves.
- Maintain organized participant files and assist the public with questions.
- Learn and apply federal housing program rules, including U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development rules.
- Coordinate with teammates, supervisors, and other departments.
- Knowledge of Housing Choice Voucher program requirements, policies, or procedures is preferred.
- Experience in accounting, mortgage processing, or direct customer service is a plus.
