Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
  • Hold current national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant.
  • Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
  • Bend, stoop, and reach, and be able to rotate normally, stand, and walk for an 8–12 hour shift.
  • Work closely with others, work protracted or irregular hours, work around biohazards and infectious diseases, and work with hands in water.
  • Travel between facilities when required.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and patients.
  • Use and learn software applications.
  • Organize and prioritize work.
  • Work independently and in a team setting.
Responsibilities
  • Perform basic nursing skills under the direction and supervision of the practice physician, advanced practice professional, and/or registered nursing staff.
  • Greet and escort patients to exam rooms; prepare for provider visits by obtaining initial information and vital signs.
  • Prepare exam rooms for patients, ensuring cleanliness and availability of supplies.
  • Assist with and/or perform exams, tests, and procedures.
  • Schedule appointments and set up referral contacts as needed.
  • Assist providers during patient examinations and procedures.
  • Educate patients on follow-up expectations.
  • Maintain quality control testing logs as required.
  • Ensure medical equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Assist patients with completing medical documentation.
Desired Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
  • One year of healthcare experience.
