Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • American Heart Association CPR certification required
  • Previous Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant, or EMT experience preferred
  • Rotating shifts including days, nights, holidays, and weekends
Responsibilities
  • Observes and reports to the Registered Nurse for all significant changes in patient’s condition
  • Prepares and sets up for suturing
  • Applies monitoring devices such as cardiac monitor, pulse oximeter, non-invasive blood pressure, and Dinamap
  • Takes and records vital signs, height and weights, measures and records fluid intake and output, collects specimens
  • Performs electrocardiograms
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living (e.g. preparing patient for and assisting with meals, bathing)
  • One-on-one observation with required documentation
  • Demonstrates proficient computer skills
  • Ability to follow through with physician orders
  • Assist with transport of patients within the hospital
  • Maintains safe and orderly environment by stocking patient care areas
  • Responds to patient/family requests in timely manner
  • Assists with orthopedic procedures by applying posterior splints
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Follow established policies and procedures
  • Communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors
  • Provides excellent customer service interfacing well with all levels of staff, management, and physicians

  • Candidates who are attending College for medical related careers are highly considered
