Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, including an internship, is required.
A current license to practice Pharmacy in New York State is required.
A minimum of one year of oncology pharmacy experience is required.
A Doctor of Pharmacy degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

Interpret and enter drug orders and patient data into the computer profile.
Select, prepare, and dispense drug products for inpatient and outpatient prescriptions.
Label drug products according to procedure.
Dispense employee prescriptions, initiate profile systems, and provide drug information.
Interact with healthcare personnel to provide information about drug action and medication delivery.
Provide compatibility information for intravenous administration of medications.
Screen for drug allergies and drug interactions.
Identify drugs or drug classes contraindicated in specific disease states.
Conduct pre-admission and discharge patient medication interviews upon request.
Review patient charts and nursing medication-charting documents for accuracy and completeness.
Maintain accurate patient profiles.
Ensure drugs are reordered according to hospital policy and procedure.
Maintain records and inventory of investigational drugs, controlled substances, and methadone.
Maintain records of transactions and delivery.
Manufacture, prepare, and label compounds, solutions, and other sterile products.
Perform related duties as required.

FLEXSTAFF - PHARMACIST Oncology Contract 4-5 shifts/week

Minumum one year Oncology Pharmacy experience required

POSITION SUMMARY

Interprets, compounds and dispenses medications and other pharmaceutical supplies, using standard physical and chemical procedures to fill written prescriptions issued by physicians, and other qualified prescribers. Enters drug orders into computer profile.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy including internship, required. PharmD, preferred.
Must possess current license to practice Pharmacy in New York State.
Minimum of one (1) year related experience to ensure familiarity with it oncology pharmacy practice, preferred.
