Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited school – Mechanical Engineering focus preferred.
  • Prior experience managing people.
  • An advanced knowledge of Mechanical/Structural design.
  • Design Engineering experience with proficiency in the Design Control Process at a nuclear Facility.
  • Technical understanding of nuclear plant processes, programs, and procedures preferred.
  • Knowledge of nuclear codes, standards and regulations, including licensing knowledge at a Nuclear Power Plant.
  • Knowledge of nuclear policies and guidelines for engineering organizations, including Chapter 15 nuclear safety analysis preferred.
  • Ability to obtain unescorted access to the nuclear facility.
Responsibilities
  • Non-emergent Engineering Changes and outage modifications.
  • Maintains the Plant design and licensing basis including Subject Matter Experts to support Design and licensing including 10CFR 50.59 and 72.48.
  • HELB/MELB/Flooding Program
  • Calculations update for design basis management
  • Owner’s Acceptance Reviews for Projects’ Engineering Changes
  • Leads or Supports design engineering changes/projects and Task Teams
  • Resolves Condition Reports and addresses Operating Experience
  • Response to Regulatory inquiries on licensing basis.
  • Directs the activities of the individual contributors within the group
  • Gas Void Size Calculations
  • Allocates personnel and budget to complete engineering activities and meet department/site goals
  • Provides timely resolution and recommendations to technical problems to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective plant operation
Desired Qualifications
  • Professional Engineering registration preferred.
  • Plant Certification or SRO Certification/License preferred.
  • Knowledge of nuclear policies and guidelines for engineering organizations, including Chapter 15 nuclear safety analysis preferred.
