Requirements
  • Education and experience equivalent to an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a job-related field of study.
  • One year of experience.
  • Ability to operate office equipment.
  • Knowledge of computer applications and standard word processing software.
  • Ability to enter data.
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, organize, plan, and process work, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the general public.
  • Ability to make decisions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of cases.
  • Ability to work in a standard office environment and perform prolonged kneeling, sitting, standing, and walking, including lifting and carrying files, boxes, and other materials up to 25 pounds unassisted.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee court processes as a subject matter expert and team lead in accordance with established procedures and applicable county, state, and federal statutes.
  • Research and analyze requests to respond to inquiries, problems, issues, and exceptions and resolve discrepancies.
  • Receive, prepare, verify, and process routine correspondence and legal documents; copy forms and other materials; process and create new cases; manage high-level cases; schedule hearings when required; ensure case information is entered into the court’s official record; and generate reports.
  • Serve as a liaison between prosecutors, attorneys, judges, witnesses, victims, granting and law enforcement agencies, and other county departments, and serve as court administrator on behalf of the courts when required.
  • Determine actions needed to comply with statutes and court orders and process time-sensitive documents in accordance with applicable county, state, and federal statutes.
  • Perform quality assurance of documents and scan and index documents into the case management system.
  • Provide individual training to clerical staff on computer systems, work processes, statutes, and procedures and assist with complex issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
