RBT/ NYS Certified Teaching Assistant
About the job
- RBT credential and a New York State Teaching Assistant Certification at Level I, Level II, Level III, or Pre-Professional are mandatory.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Provide instructional services and support to students under the supervision of a certified teacher.
- Help prepare teaching materials and the environment to support instruction.
- Use familiarity with basic behavior intervention strategies and principles.
- Participate in maintaining data collection to support academic and behavioral plans.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with children and staff.
- Possibly assist in managing student behaviors and crisis intervention.
- Participate in team meetings as appropriate.
- Work directly with a student and/or classroom.
- An associate degree is preferred.
- Experience working with children on the autism spectrum is a plus.
- Bilingual ability is a plus.
