Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Quality experience on water, wastewater, utility construction projects, or other heavy civil projects with similar features of work.
  • Experience or training in environmental regulatory and construction industry compliance preferred.
  • Proven subject matter expertise in testing, inspection processes, and construction procedures.
  • Leadership and mentoring ability and ownership.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and grow in environmental monitoring, technical writing, and documentation.
  • Ability to move up to 50 pounds, including debris, concrete, signs, and testing equipment.
  • Ability to use mobile and desktop applications and software to perform the work.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as an inspector or assist in overseeing construction inspection activities for very large and complex projects.
  • Inspect construction methods and workmanship to ensure contractors’ work complies with plans and specifications.
  • Document construction work and lead the work of technical and certified employees when assigned.
  • Work with stakeholders, clients, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and manufacturers as required.
  • Observe construction work on site with construction crews for most of the work period.
  • Adhere to and assist in monitoring site safety policies.
  • Maintain safe working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Perform or coordinate the approved quality control process and project documentation.
  • Document findings, evaluations, and inspections using company-prescribed procedures and software.
  • Assist with protocols, qualifications, validation procedures, and related documentation.
  • Perform system verifications on completed systems to assure correct installation per contract design specifications.
  • Document, analyze, and report performance to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Support impact assessments to identify, assess, and reduce organizational environmental risks and financial costs under the direction of the environmental team.
  • Interpret applicable plans and specifications, prepare estimates, and review and address compliance requirements.
  • Perform construction engineering policies and procedures.
  • Apply applicable inspection methods, procedures, and techniques.
  • Apply applicable testing methods, processes, and procedures.
  • Perform additional assignments as directed by management.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Five or more years of related experience.
  • Inspection certifications.
  • Experience or training in environmental regulatory and construction industry compliance.
