Requirements

A Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required.
A Virginia license is required upon start.

Responsibilities

Document evaluation results clearly and completely according to department policy.
Complete daily progress notes reflecting patients' responses to treatment, actual performance, status relevant to the treatment plan, eventual discharge needs, and treatment summaries when needed.
Complete discharge notes summarizing the course of treatment, progress toward goals, discharge needs, follow-up recommendations, and patient and/or family education.
Communicate with patients, families, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors, and outside contacts.
Provide educational materials and methods appropriate to patients' level of understanding and motivation.
Demonstrate essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment, and protocols.
Perform re-evaluations according to department guidelines and adjust the treatment plan as needed.

Desired Qualifications

A master's degree is preferred.
One year of experience in an acute care setting is preferred.

Inova Fair Oaks is looking to add an Occupational Therapist to join our wonderful team! This is a PRN opportunity, at least 2 weekend shifts a month, one major and one minor holiday. We are a cohesive, hard working team motivated by helping our patients meet their rehab goals.

Occupational Therapist Job Responsibilities:
