About the job

Requirements
  • A degree in finance, accounting, or economics is required.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in financial control, financial planning and analysis, or project controlling is required; experience in IT services, consulting, or another project-based business is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP Controlling, Project System, CATS, or an equivalent system is required, along with an understanding of how time recording feeds billing and reporting.
  • A solid understanding of the order-to-cash cycle and commercial terms in service contracts, including MSA/SOW, purchase orders, rate cards, and time-and-materials versus fixed-price arrangements, is required.
  • Advanced Excel skills are required.
  • Experience building and maintaining Power BI models, including Power Query and DAX, is required; using reports alone is insufficient.
  • The ability to trace a number to its source across several systems and explain differences is required.
  • Experience writing process documentation and instructions for non-finance users is required.
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher is required.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor project economics end to end, including direct costs, reported time, sales and cost rates, revenue, gross profit, and margin.
  • Control allocations against reported time in CATS and invoiced hours; investigate gaps between SAP, CATS, and customer data; and follow up on unbilled work to prevent revenue leakage.
  • Check project setup in the system, including roles, periods, team composition, extensions, and changes.
  • Maintain and develop the sales-rate and cost-rate model used as the baseline for gross-profit calculation.
  • Ensure every project is backed by a valid contract, such as an MSA/SOW and customer purchase order, and that project revenue matches revenue booked in Accounting.
  • Review commercial terms per project, including purchase-order limits and validity, billing conditions, and rates; manually control terms not yet covered by structured fields in SAP.
  • Track cases where delivery starts before agreements, SOWs, or purchase orders are signed, and follow up with project managers and Sales until the documents are in place.
  • Reconcile project revenue with Accounting as part of month-end close.
  • Produce monthly project profitability reporting for project managers, the CDO, CFO, and CEO, covering revenue, direct costs, gross profit and margin, adjustments, and explanations of key variances.
  • Report chargeability, utilization, and bench metrics for Team Managers.
  • Report overall revenue and margin, month-end results, key risks, and deviations to the CFO and CEO.
  • Handle ad hoc analytical requests from Sales, Team Managers, project managers, the CFO, and the CDO.
  • Automate recurring reports so stakeholders can access up-to-date data instead of waiting for manual monthly files.
  • Build and develop the Power BI model using SAP OData and dataflows, including transformations, source reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
  • Investigate discrepancies between SAP, CATS, BambooHR, and Accounting; find the root cause in systems, processes, or data; and assess the impact on invoicing, reporting, and profitability.
  • Drive corrections in source and master data, and follow up on open system issues.
  • Stabilize and document the Closed Deal to Invoice process, and design and implement controls.
  • Support the Controlling and Order-to-Cash implementation for SAP S/4HANA through process review, testing, analysis of system and data issues, identification of missing requirements and workarounds, and coordination with the SAP team.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in IT services, consulting, or another project-based business is preferred.
