Truist deploys AI call summaries and appoints wealth director amid efficiency push

Truist Financial has introduced AI-generated call summaries across its care centres to streamline client interactions and internal workflows. The bank is using generative AI to automate post-call documentation for service representatives throughout its support network. Additionally, Truist has appointed Tory Sherman as Wealth Brokerage national director to oversee its wealth-focused brokerage operations. The US banking group, with a reported market value of approximately $61.6 billion, operates retail banking, commercial lending, and wealth services across the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic regions. These initiatives align with Truist's broader strategy to reduce operational costs through digital adoption and technology investments whilst positioning itself for revenue and margin expansion. The moves mirror similar efficiency efforts by competitors including Wells Fargo and Bank of America.

HealthStream extends $50M credit facility maturity to 2031 with lower rates

HealthStream has extended the maturity of its $50 million revolving credit facility to September 2031, pushing the deadline out by roughly five years under a newly amended agreement with Truist Bank. The healthcare technology company entered into the Second Amendment to its credit agreement on 10 September 2026. The facility maintains its $50 million maximum principal amount and includes a $25 million accordion option subject to lender commitments. Initial pricing has been set at 0.50% for base rate loans and 1.50% for SOFR loans, with margins tied to HealthStream's net funded debt leverage ratio. The pricing structure allows borrowing costs to fall as the company deleverages. The amended agreement requires HealthStream to maintain a net funded debt leverage ratio of no more than 3.00 to 1.00 and an interest coverage ratio of at least 3.00 to 1.00. The extension removes near-term refinancing pressure and preserves balance-sheet flexibility for acquisitions or general corporate purposes.

The amendment requires the borrower to maintain a Consolidated Total Net Leverage Ratio of no greater than 1.60 to 1.0 and Consolidated EBITDA of at least $125 million for the twelve months ended 30 June 2026. The expanded credit capacity provides Cardinal Infrastructure significant liquidity for potential acquisitions, project investments, or operational needs.
