Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required; vocational or technical training is recommended.
  • Basic software skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, are required.
  • Three to five years of field service experience is recommended.
  • Detailed working knowledge of personal-computer-based computer numerical control equipment and drive systems applied to complex five-axis computer numerical control machine tools is required.
  • Strong electrical/electronic and mechanical maintenance skills are required.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers, general testing equipment, and personal-computer-based control systems is required.
  • The ability to read system and machine layouts and blueprints for on-site installation is required.
  • The ability to direct contractors during system and machine installations is required.
  • Intermediate programmable logic controller troubleshooting experience, including program editing and network connections, is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • U.S. citizenship or existing U.S. permanent resident status is required for customer facility access.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills are required.
  • The ability to work in a team is required.
Responsibilities
  • Work with external and internal customers to ensure products and systems provide maximum performance, productivity, reliability, and safety.
  • Independently troubleshoot and provide solutions for machine breakdowns, installations, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance of equipment, including machines, water plants, tooling, machine rebuilds, and technology upgrades.
  • Build, install, and service equipment within the Rock Hill manufacturing facility and at customer sites.
  • Maintain, service, and commission electrical discharge machining, electrochemical machining, and laser machine tools using electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and high-pressure water systems troubleshooting skills.
  • Provide technical customer support during installation, commissioning, and servicing of manufactured machinery and associated support equipment.
  • Wire, power up, and commission machines in the United States while working from schematic drawings.
  • Diagnose fault conditions and rectify minor discrepancies.
  • Set up, inspect, and test electrical and mechanical systems safely and in a controlled manner.
  • Identify and resolve machine issues and breakdowns promptly.
  • Install and commission technical upgrade packages from mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical drawings, including software and firmware updates for required components.
  • Execute preventative and reactive maintenance at customer sites and respond to service requests in a timely manner.
  • Provide technical support and service training internally and externally while maintaining professional and technical knowledge.
  • Complete written and personal-computer-based maintenance records accurately.
  • Provide periodic reports to management covering customer complaints, trends, and improvement suggestions.
Desired Qualifications
  • Understanding of non-conventional machine tools and experience with part programming and process development for non-conventional machining equipment are preferred.
  • Experience with high-voltage or high-ampere machine tools is of interest.
