Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or Chemical Engineering required
  • Minimum of 2 years in an industrial controls (end-user or OEM), or system integration/consulting role as a controls engineer
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC’s, HMI’s and programming software required
Responsibilities
  • Programming of PLC, HMI and SCADA systems for continuous, discrete and batch processes
  • Industrial network specification and design (Ethernet, Modbus, IO-Link, etc.)
  • Collaboration with other disciplines (Process Design, Electrical Design) to identify control system specifications
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and other process design documentation to assist in control system specifications
  • Generate and maintain necessary documentation, including I/O Lists, Process Narratives, Functional Design Specifications, Commissioning Forms, etc., dependent upon customer requirements
  • Provide commissioning and startup services
  • Electrical troubleshooting and ability to commission and configure a wide range of control equipment (VFDs, transmitters, etc.)
  • Assist in control panel design and equipment specification, ensuring compliance with applicable codes (NEC, UL508A) and standards
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in any of the following HMI/SCADA software is desirable: Inductive Automaton Ignition, AVEVA Wonderware, GE iFix
  • Experience with Siemens SIMATIC controllers and STEP 7 programming software
  • Experience in the use and configuration of historians (FactoryTalk Historian, OSISoft PI)
  • Experience with OPC Servers (Kepware, Matrikon), Databases (SQL)
  • Proficiency in managing tasks within integration projects, including client coordination, system design, and deliverable preparation
  • Proficiency in control panel design, network design, and component selection
  • Strong leadership and organizational abilities with a focus on relationship management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
