Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an adult acute care or critical care setting.
  • Must have active, current, unrestricted registered nurse licensure in the state of residence.
  • Must have a direct, hardwired internet connection to a modem or router within 7 feet of the computer, with at least 25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload speeds; Wi-Fi and satellite internet are not permitted.
  • Must maintain a quiet, secure, private designated home workspace that is free from distractions, tidy and organized, compliant with company and HIPAA guidelines, and suitable for uninterrupted work.
  • Must work within the state and city where currently residing.
  • Must obtain the required internet speeds and adhere to all work-from-home requirements if hired.
  • Must be comfortable setting up and using multiple monitors and navigating multiple applications simultaneously.
  • Must be able to communicate through digital channels, including email, calendar invitations, Teams messaging, and virtual meetings.
  • Must be able to log in to secure systems such as a VPN or electronic health record portal, lock the computer screen when unattended, manage strong passwords, and recognize suspicious emails or links.
  • Must be able to independently resolve common technical issues, including restarting a frozen application and resolving internet connection issues, and contact IT for unresolved technical issues.
  • Must work schedules that include weekends, holidays, and evening hours in a 24/7 operation.
  • Must be proficient with computer skills, including navigating multiple systems and keyboarding.
  • Must be able to perform close inspection of handwritten and computer-generated documents and a PC monitor, sit for extended periods, talk on the telephone, and type on a computer.
  • An Associate's degree is required.
Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate options to facilitate appropriate healthcare services and benefits for members, using clinical experience and skills in a collaborative process.
  • Gather clinical information and apply appropriate clinical criteria, guidelines, policies, procedures, and clinical judgment to render coverage determinations or recommendations along the continuum of care.
  • Communicate with providers and other parties to facilitate care and treatment.
  • Identify members for referral opportunities to integrate with other products, services, or programs.
  • Identify opportunities to promote the quality and effectiveness of healthcare services and benefit utilization.
  • Consult and provide expertise to internal and external constituents in coordinating and administering the utilization and benefit management function.
  • Adapt to changing work demands while multitasking and prioritizing work.
  • Use Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, or similar Google Workspace applications.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience in a medical-surgical or specialty area.
  • Managed care experience, especially utilization management experience.
  • Residing in the Eastern Standard Time zone is preferred.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.

CVS Omnicare completes $250M bankruptcy sale after $440M government settlement

CVS Health's Omnicare division has completed its Chapter 11 bankruptcy liquidation after selling its business operations for $250 million. A Texas bankruptcy judge approved the wind-down plan following a $440 million settlement with the Justice Department over improper billing practices. Omnicare, which served nursing homes and long-term care facilities, filed for bankruptcy in September 2025 after facing a $949 million judgement for fraudulently dispensing drugs without valid prescriptions and billing federal healthcare programmes for false claims. The settlement requires CVS to pay $130 million upfront and cover the remaining $310 million if Omnicare fails to do so by March 2028.
