Requirements
  • A high school diploma, general education degree (GED), or related trade school education is required.
  • Five years of experience in wireless tower construction, maintenance, or field services is required.
  • Two years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role is required.
  • Competent Climber/Rescue Certification from an accredited institution is required.
  • An OSHA 30 Construction Training Card is required.
  • First Aid and CPR Certification are required.
  • Competent Rigging and Hoisting Certification is required.
  • Other relevant certifications may be required according to the scope of work, including NWSA, Hazcom, Blood Born Pathogen, and RF Safety certifications.
  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office is required.
  • Expert knowledge of wireless communication infrastructure and equipment, construction techniques, and safety protocols is required.
  • Proficiency in tower climbing, rigging, antenna and line installation, and advanced sweep, fiber, and PIM testing is required.
  • The ability to interpret RF data, construction drawings, and customer specifications is required.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools is required.
  • Competence with GPS, test equipment, and site audit tools is required.
  • A valid driver's license and a driving record that meets Company requirements are required.
  • The ability to climb towers and elevated structures up to 500 feet, lift up to 75 pounds regularly, work outdoors in extreme weather, wear required personal protective equipment, perform tower rescues, and work in confined spaces is required.
  • The ability to travel away from home up to 75% of the time, including weekends and extended travel, is required.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily activities of tower crews, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity on all projects.
  • Climb and perform work on communication towers and elevated structures up to 500 feet as required.
  • Serve as the on-site safety leader, ensuring crew members follow safety protocols and participate in meetings and briefings.
  • Lead the installation, testing, and maintenance of antennas, radios, hybrid cables, connectors, and mounts.
  • Interpret construction documents and RF specifications and ensure accurate, complete installation according to scope.
  • Manage job-site logistics, materials, schedules, and documentation.
  • Perform and oversee advanced sweep, fiber, and PIM testing and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure proper rigging and hoisting techniques are followed and inspect equipment and tools for safe use.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks and ensure work meets customer and Company standards.
  • Supervise tracking of on-site inventory and materials and refresh project supplies as needed.
  • Maintain and inspect rigging, hoisting, and climbing equipment for proper use and safety.
  • Maintain communication with management regarding job status, issues, and changes.
  • Complete daily reports, job safety observations, quality checklists, and site photos accurately.
  • Maintain and organize tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site and ensure tools, materials, and waste are handled and disposed of properly.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate tower technicians at all levels.
  • Travel regularly to job sites, including possible overnight stays.
