Requirements
  • The candidate must be able to independently analyze and interpret technical reports, technical guidance documents, and governmental regulations pertaining to environmental projects.
  • The candidate must have strong technical writing skills.
  • The candidate must communicate effectively with clients, regulators, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • The candidate must independently solve practical problems and manage daily project variables.
  • The candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail and organizational skills to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • The candidate must have a B.S. degree or higher in Geology, Earth or Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • The candidate must have 3–5 years of related experience in environmental assessment and remediation through Texas-based regulatory programs.
  • The candidate must have experience with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Railroad Commission of Texas, Texas Risk Reduction Program, Voluntary Cleanup Program, Industrial and Hazardous Waste Corrective Action Program, and Leaking Petroleum Storage Tank Program.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct and manage Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and related soil, vapor, and groundwater contaminant investigations.
  • Manage active remediation sites and related services.
  • Generate cost estimates for environmental investigation and remediation projects.
  • Coordinate, perform, and direct staff and subcontractors for field tasks.
  • Train and mentor new staff.
  • Prepare and execute scope of work proposals.
  • Produce and review applicable reports and regulatory documents.
  • Manage projects for the entire life cycle, including direct communications with clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications
  • Professional Geoscientist or Professional Engineer designation.
  • Geologist-in-Training or Engineer-in-Training designation with a desire to obtain Professional Geoscientist or Professional Engineer credentials.
  • Experience with spill response, remediation oversight, and associated reporting.
  • Experience with industrial compliance.
  • A demonstrated history of client development and/or staff supervision.
