About the job

Requirements
  • Experience applying TECHINT and Weapon Intelligence concepts, principles, methodologies, and tradecraft to the exploitation and analysis of weapons, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), devices, and associated technologies.
  • Experience applying Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) classification guidelines, security requirements, and information-handling procedures to TECHINT research, exploitation, analysis, and intelligence production.
  • Experience working semi-independently with limited oversight to conduct technical research, exploitation, analysis, and intelligence production in support of mission requirements.
  • Experience collecting, evaluating, correlating, and synthesizing TECHINT, Weapon Intelligence, and all-source information to characterize weapons, IEDs, devices, events, technical profiles, signatures, and attribution indicators.
  • Experience analyzing technical characteristics, components, construction methods, capabilities, functionality, triggering mechanisms, and employment techniques associated with weapons, IEDs, and related devices.
  • Experience evaluating technical signatures and sensor-derived data, including seismic, acoustic, infrasound, very low frequency (VLF), extremely low frequency (ELF) electromagnetic, and triggering-device information.
  • Experience developing and defending analytic judgments using multiple sources of technical and intelligence information, and adapting assessments based on new data, emerging technologies, or changing operational conditions.
  • Experience identifying technical nuances, inconsistencies, anomalies, and contradictions within weapon/device data and determining their potential impact on attribution and intelligence assessments.
  • Experience applying structured analytic techniques and alternative methodologies to evaluate assumptions, biases, competing hypotheses, and uncertainty and strengthen technical intelligence assessments.
  • Experience conducting structured technical research, including obtaining, validating, evaluating, organizing, and maintaining information in accordance with applicable security, classification, and data-handling protocols.
  • Experience evaluating intelligence collection capabilities and limitations, including technical sensors, collection platforms, human intelligence (HUMINT) sources, and other intelligence disciplines relevant to TECHINT and Weapon Intelligence.
  • Experience evaluating collected technical intelligence and collaborating with collection managers, intelligence analysts, technical personnel, and other mission partners to identify intelligence gaps and develop, refine, and prioritize collection requirements.
  • Experience producing timely, concise, and technically accurate Weapon Intelligence products, device attribution reports, technical assessments, studies, databases, and briefing materials.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, electronic matrices, databases, and web-enabled tools to organize, analyze, document, and present technical intelligence.
  • Experience communicating complex technical and intelligence issues clearly and concisely through written products, briefings, presentations, and verbal engagements.
  • Experience collaborating with Intelligence Community, scientific, technical, and academic partners to assess emerging weapons, IED, device, sensor, and related technology developments and their implications for TECHINT/Weapon Intelligence capabilities.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, process, and evaluate TECHINT and Weapon Intelligence data to identify, characterize, and assess weapons, IEDs, associated devices, technologies, and technical signatures.
  • Conduct all-source intelligence exploitation of weapons, IEDs, and related devices to identify technical characteristics, components, capabilities, functionality, and attribution indicators.
  • Produce Weapon Intelligence and device attribution reports, intelligence products, databases, and technical assessments documenting device characteristics, technical profiles, signatures, and associated events.
  • Analyze weapons, IEDs, and related device events to identify recurring technical profiles, signatures, components, construction methods, triggering mechanisms, and other indicators supporting attribution and threat assessments.
  • Analyze technical data associated with device and weapon signatures, including seismic, acoustic, infrasound, very low frequency (VLF), extremely low frequency (ELF) electromagnetic, and triggering-device data.
  • Integrate TECHINT, Weapon Intelligence, and all-source reporting to correlate device characteristics, technical signatures, and event information and develop comprehensive intelligence assessments.
  • Maintain and update Weapon Intelligence and device attribution databases to support exploitation, correlation, trend analysis, and retrieval of technical intelligence.
  • Collaborate with Intelligence Community, scientific, technical, and academic partners to evaluate emerging weapons, IED, sensing, triggering, and related technologies and assess their implications for TECHINT/Weapon Intelligence capabilities.
  • Conduct research and analysis on emerging and evolving technologies to identify changes in weapon and device capabilities, signatures, employment methods, and associated intelligence requirements.
  • Develop and communicate technical intelligence assessments, findings, and recommendations to support operational, intelligence, scientific, and technology-development requirements.
