- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
- Must hold American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
- Must have two years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
- Preferred: Two years of recent experience in the current clinical specialty.
- Preferred: An additional life-support credential such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, or Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification, or another clinical specialty certification applicable to the unit.
- Visual color acuity is required depending on the role in specific units.
- Coordinate daily activities and distribute work in the area during the scheduled shift as a Charge Nurse.
- Act as a professional educator and resource for new employees as a Preceptor Nurse by demonstrating clinical expertise and competence.
- Provide direct patient care and Charge-Preceptor duties during an eight- to twelve-hour shift, with the approximate participation split of 80% direct patient care and 20% Charge-Preceptor duties.
- Set priorities based on the situation at hand and take responsibility for the unit during the shift.
- Provide care and services to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations.
- Two years of recent experience in the current clinical specialty, such as critical care, surgical services, diabetes education, or radiology.
- An additional life-support credential such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, or Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification, or another clinical specialty certification applicable to the unit.
