We are looking for an HR Generalist to join our team. As an HR Generalist at Wisk you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective functioning of the People Operations department within our organization. You will be responsible for various HR tasks including running our onboarding process, supporting various HR processes such as: leave of absence administration, HR audits, immigration, important HR-focused company meetings, and manage service ticket issues/questions. Your role will involve collaborating with different departments to support the organization’s overall objectives while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
This is a hybrid role based in our corporate headquarters in Mountain View, California.
What you will do:
- Support onboarding process including: administer onboarding process, coordinate and lead new hire orientations, and new hire documentation
- Process employees’ queries (JIRA, email, chats) and respond in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate employee records and data entry
- Assist in immigration tasks and inquiries
- Answering questions from employees in all areas of People Operations and direct them as appropriate.
- Provide support with Internship Program as needed
- Input compensation and internal equity data for candidate offers and promotions (ICRs & OTPs)
- Back-up POC for questions related to employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks
- Explain Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations
- Work with Subject Matter Expert to help develop and revise HR policies, procedures to reflect current best practices and legal requirements
- Stay updated on employment laws and regulations, ensuring the organization’s compliance with local, state, and federal laws
- Initiate and manage the termination process
- Other duties may be assigned
What you have done:
- Bachelor degree in human resources or related field and 5 years of human resources experience; or, 8 years of human resources experience in lieu of degree
- Minimum 3 years experience as an HR Specialist or HR Generalist
- Hands-on administrative experience with Human Resources Information Systems
- Experience navigating an employee ticketing system (Jira experience a plus)
- Knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems
- Solid understanding of labor legislation and payroll process
- Solid understanding of benefit related laws and regulations (COBRA, FMLA, ERISA, ADA, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good problem-solving abilities, resourceful thinking, self starter
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Interpersonal skills one of your super powers
- Ability to remain flexible, re-prioritize, and respond to changing demands
Desired:
- You are confident using the Google Suite and Excel
- Experience working in a startup environment
- SHRM, PHR certifications or similar
