Requirements
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Warehouse Manager or in a comparable supervisory role within a warehouse environment.
  • Knowledge and experience in Lean methodology.
  • Knowledge and experience in 6S methodology.
  • Proficiency with computer applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to operate and train employees on reach and lift trucks.
  • Knowledge and experience with health and safety practices within a warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the operations of the Hub warehouse.
  • Prepare work schedules to ensure workflow meets or exceeds customer service standards.
  • Enforce and monitor established work procedures.
  • Monitor staffing services and ensure adequate staffing levels to meet production requirements.
  • Analyze performance reports to continually improve warehouse productivity.
  • Conduct daily meetings with the warehouse team to discuss work plans and concerns, and determine solutions.
  • Ensure employees are trained in proper processes and sub-processes, equipment usage, material handling, and maintenance.
  • Develop policies and procedures to meet Total Quality requirements.
  • Ensure proper health and safety practices are followed throughout the warehouse.
  • Discuss disciplinary action for team members with the District Operations Manager.
  • Promote a team culture and continual improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and guidelines, and maintain the shelving and warehouse layout based on productivity, inventory turnover, and item size and weight.
  • Ensure customer service standards are met.
  • Maintain internal business controls to ensure compliance with goals.
  • Determine purchasing requirements for equipment, machines, and supplies.
  • Advise the District Operations Manager of new technologies available to maintain efficiency.
  • Arrange shipping schedules to meet the immediate needs of customers and branches.
  • Prepare reports on commitment levels, and monitor and maintain warehouse key performance indicator benchmarks and maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure all vehicles operate in compliance with provincial and federal legislation.
  • Prepare reports on repairs and maintenance for trucks, machinery, and equipment.
  • Maintain 24-hour, 7-day emergency support for branch and internal functions.
  • Ensure facility maintenance is scheduled in compliance with company and legal standards to minimize emergency costs.
