Requirements
  • 5+ years of multi-property experience in a decentralized, independent hotel environment
  • Experience as an on-site property Director of Finance supporting one or more full-service properties is beneficial
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, or equivalent on the job experience (MBA, CPA a plus)
  • Experience with financial systems used in hospitality (ProfitSword, HIA, FloQast)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Excel and complicated financial models and cash flows
  • Experience with complicated assets, including food and beverage, spa, golf, memberships, condos, and HOAs preferred
  • Ability to travel at least 50%
Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth, regular financial reviews across a portfolio of hotels, covering monthly operating statements and cash flow reports to forecasts, balance sheets, and capital expenditures; identify trends, analyze variances, and ensure timely, accurate reporting that empowers decision-making.
  • Serve as a key financial partner to Operations and Finance leadership by flagging significant deviations from budgets, forecasts, performance indexes, and internal controls, and recommending corrective actions as needed.
  • Champion process improvements that drive profitability by working closely with property executive teams to enhance expense management and maximize flow-through.
  • Provide hands-on leadership, training, and support to Directors of Finance at each property, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and financial excellence.
  • Collaborate with Property Executive Committees to meet critical budgeting and forecasting deadlines, refine financial planning processes, and ensure each property meets its forecast accuracy goals.
  • Cultivate strong, trusted relationships with property owners and lenders; ensure all reporting requirements are met with accuracy and responsiveness, and attend owner meetings as needed.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with all debt and lease obligations, ensuring each property remains in good financial standing.
  • Ensure the property accounting teams have qualified, skilled individuals in the appropriate roles, including conducting interviews, finding temporary support to fill vacated positions, and analyzing staffing needs.

  • Proficiency in ProfitSword, Hospitality Financial Software such as HIA or FloQast (or related financial systems) is desirable
