- A high school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development certification is required.
- A minimum of five years of experience in electroencephalography and video electroencephalography monitoring is required.
- Completion of a Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation Program accredited by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists is required.
- Successful completion of a national registry examination through the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists is required.
- Current American Heart Association cardiopulmonary resuscitation and Basic Life Support certifications are required.
- Annual respirator fit testing is required.
- Supervise all neurophysiology laboratory personnel.
- Oversee the technical operations of the neurophysiology laboratory.
- Manage clerical tasks related to laboratory functions.
- Support and participate in staff training and development.
- Review and evaluate requests for neurophysiological tests, including electroencephalography, video electroencephalography monitoring, transcranial Doppler, evoked potentials, and nerve conduction studies/electromyography.
- Advise physicians on appropriate procedures and test protocols.
- Select, program, and maintain equipment needed for diagnostic studies.
- Ensure all tests are properly performed and meet quality standards for interpretation.
- Perform or assist with neurophysiology procedures as needed.
- Apply advanced-level knowledge and skills to care for patients of all ages, from newborns to older adults.
- An associate’s degree or higher in a related field is preferred.
- Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
